SELF-PUBLISHING?

Self Publishing is the act of an author doing all the necessary publishing processes by themselves using their own resources. 

Traditionally, publishing houses would bear the grunt of the entire publication minutia while the author has little to no input as to the decisions on how the book will be presented after a big portion of the rights to the story have been signed over to the publishing house. 

Traditionally- published authors would have to make a lot of book sales to make a substantial income because the publishing house would retain a lot of the profit if the book is successful. 

Self-published authors, on the other hand, have more control during the entire process- from editing, proofreading, book covers to pricing and marketing and they get to retain a lot more sales and royalties from the book.

Needless to say, it is extremely difficult to become a traditionally published writer especially if you are new to the writing space. You would have to be extremely well connected or highly skilled and famous to do so. 

With the advent of technology, Self- publishing has become a game-changer in the digital space as more and more people are shifting from analog to digital media. 

In the past, you would need to have a genie to make your wishes come true. Now, you can make your own dreams come to life.
